In Grananda

We arrived in Granada yesterday afternoon and met the family that we will be living with this week.  Fatima, the mama is super nice.  Her house is like a museum, there are antiques and artwork everywhere.  Tilghman counted 15 clocks in our rooms and hallway.  There are at least 20 rocking chairs throughout.  Our rooms are a bit stuffy but there is a huge open courtyard in the middle of the house where we can sit and do our homework. Fatima's cousin Carlo is a trip. He loves to talk and had divulged the family's entire story in the first two hours. His Spanish is very fast and hard to understand, but his interesting hand gestures help. For instance, whenever he talks about someone dying he snaps his hands to his sides, leans back slightly, and freezes his face looking forward, with his eyes closed. We are all doing a lot of smiling and nodding and he just keeps on rolling.

We woke up early, ate breakfast with the family and got to school around 8.  We met our teachers and got right to work. After 4 hours we were pretty cooked. I feel like we are all going to learn a ton this week.

After lunch we took a short siesta and now we are hanging out at the pool reading and resting our brains.
